Back That Super Ass Up, Brandon Routh

,

Unfortunately for all of us that live in this world, there was only so much footage of Brandon Routh in his Superman suit that was shot. There's even less of him in the silver suit without a cape - in the film as released I think the only time you see this suit is when he crash-lands in Kansas at the start and his lucky-ass mother, played by Eva Marie Saint, gets to cradle him. (Mmmm see those shots here.)

Well last week a giant boxed-set of Supes movies came out on DVD and apparently included on the Bryan Singer film's disc is the original opening scene which was deleted from the film, which has some more of him in that suit. Not nearly enough, but some. A copy of this scene's made its way online but it's a bad quality copy but we devotees will take what we can get, for now. Especially with a shot like this included:

Damn. I might have to go and buy this DVD-set myself in nobody ups a proper copy of this video onto the internet so that can be seen the way it was intended, immense and crystal-clear. Here's the video (via):

I Am Link

.
--- A-Ha Hemsworth - io9's got a gallery of hi-res Thor pictures, including the largest most splendid version of that shot to the right that I've seen so far. I really never tire of it. And speaking of Chris Hemsworth, have y'all seen this video of him dancing on the Aussie Dancing With the Stars back in the day? He swivels a lot. It is hypnotic.

--- How To Go Boo - ScreenCrave made a pretty swell list of the six most important things you need in order to make a good-to-great horror film that I can't find much fault with. I don't know that I'd say they're all THE most important things, but they help.

--- Partied Out - The Playlist listed five reasonable reasons why Party Down will never get turned into a movie. Since I'm still holding my breath for the Veronica Mars movie I don't have the space in my lungs for this one too.

--- Remington Peeled - Early Pierce Brosnan is a field of research I haven't yet looked into, so I appreciate Nat giving me a goose towards it with this post of him rocking a speedo and getting a little bit gay (and a whole lot stabby) in The Long Good Friday, his very first movie.

--- Space Invaders - There's another trailer for that British "kids versus aliens" movie Attack the Block that everybody keeps saying is so good right over here, and is now getting a US release. They keep not telling us when it's getting a release though, which is annoying me.

--- Thunder Lizard - There really for real are dinosaurs in Malick's Tree of Life movie, and IndieWire has the first look at one. Huh.

--- Good and Hot - Glenn got to see both of Xavier Dolan's films and geeked out over them, as has everyone who has seen them. I am not one of the people who's gotten to see them yet, which makes me sad. And not only because he's so nice to look at!

--- Super Mash - I like that Slash threw a bunch of superhero movie news into one big post, it saves me from having to do a bunch of separate links myself. (Time I can spend staring at Nick Jonas' ass some more!) They speak of the comic origins of Joe Gordon-Levitt's Batman character, and of interview with Bryan Singer about X-Men, amongst other things.

--- Acid Washed - There are aliens - like, the old-fashioned Giger sort - on the set of Ridley Scott's Prometheus. And this is news.

--- And finally, I haven't watched it yet but here's a new video of Joss Whedon talking about Buffy. (via) Which is something I could - and have - watch hours and hours of.
